Chateau de Lamarque ~ Millesime 2018
NEAL MARTIN
92 points: "The 2018 de Lamarque has a cohesive, well-defined bouquet of vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit, crushed rock and light sous-bois notes, sophisticated and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a slightly chalky texture and a fresh, very sapid finish. Quintessentially Haut-Médoc. I can see this aging nicely over the next 15–20 years."
JAMES SUCKLING
Chateau de Lamarque 2018
94 points: "A chewy, linear 2018 with very attractive blackberry, chocolate and wet-earth character. Some mushrooms, too. It’s full-bodied, very tight and tannic, yet polished and creamy-textured. Flavorful finish. Very typically Medoc. Needs three years to soften. Try after 2024."
Donjon de Lamarque 2018
91-92 points: "Serious second wine with a pretty core of juicy fruit, showing currant, mushroom and tobacco character. Medium body, silky tannins and a solid finish."
LISA PERROTI for THE WINE ADVOCATE (R. Parker)
90-92 points - "Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Lamarque opens with exotic spice scents of cassia, star anise and fenugreek over a core of baked blackcurrants, plum preserves and blueberry coulis plus wafts of redcurrant jelly and wild thyme. Full-bodied, the palate coats the mouth with pure, dark fruits and a firm, ripe, grainy texture with sparks of freshness coming through on the long finish."
FORBES by TOM MULLEN
Lamarque 2018 was selected by Forbes amongst “(…) producers whose primeur reds deserve quality scores from 92 to 99 points on a scale of 100.”
“Licorice, blackberries and brownies on the nose; wonderfully balanced dark seduction. Difficult to stop drinking.”

PANOS KAKAVIATOS for wine-chronicles.com: "Lamarque 2018 (ndlr) a potential Nirvana wine!"
"Three top wines from this series that pop in my head as I write this? Château Lanessan, Château de Lamarque and Château Belgrave!"
92 -94 points: "Has some cassis and plum on the nose. Ripe fruit. This is fine overall, a smooth delivery with a certain tannic edge, albeit supple. I like the palate substance midway through leading to a fresh finish. This is just a very consistent estate in recent years. Bravo ! Tasted at the UGCB."
